Dr. Walter M. Bain and staff welcome you and thank you for choosing us as your San Antonio health care provider.  Dr. Bain is a Board Certified Otolaryngologist (also known as an ENT or Ears, Nose, and Throat specialist) in private practice in San Antonio since 1981.

Office Hours

If you have an evening or weekend emergency, call the office and the answering system will direct you to leave a message for Dr. Bain.  Your call will be returned as soon as possible. If you call during the lunch hour or when the office is closed, you may leave a message with our answering system. Office hours are:

• 8:00 am to 5:00Monday - Friday 

Your New Patient Package & First Visit Checklist

Click to visit The Ear Institute of Texas. To better serve you during your initial visit, please download your New Patient Forms, print, complete, and bring them with you to your appointment. Failure to have the forms completed could result in you being seen at a later time or possibly rescheduling your appointment.  Also, please bring your insurance cards(s).  We will need to copy the front and back of each card together with your driver’s license or a picture ID for identification purposes.

Insurance

We are contracted with most major insurance companies with the exception of Humana and Medicare Replacement policies.  We will collect your co-payment, coinsurance, and deductible at time of service.  We will file your primary insurance and send you a statement of any balance remaining after your insurance has paid. We do not file secondary insurance with the exception of Medicare. After three consecutive months with no payment, your account may be forwarded to a collection agency.

It is your responsibility to notify us when you have a change in insurance and to obtain a referral from your primary care physician if required by your insurance. We cannot file a claim after the "timely filing" deadline designated by your insurance company.    

If you have no insurance or we are not in network with your insurance, we offer a discount and payment is due in full at the time services are rendered. Once this discount is transacted, your insurance will not be filed after-the-fact.
