Acute & Chronic Sinusitis, Sinus Infections

Sinus infections are either viral, fungal or bacterial. Viral infections with nasal symptoms can last up to two weeks or more. Sinusitis caused by bacteria or fungus can persist from a few weeks to years.

Symptoms of sinusitis may include facial pain, headache, nasal drainage, cough, toothache, ear pain, balance problems, fatigue and poor concentration. Often, post-nasal drainage is the only symptom.

Treatment for sinusitis generally requires a combination of therapies including medicines (antibiotics, antihistamines, saline washes, etc.), injections (intra-nasal steroids) or surgery.
