Earwax

Earwax is a normal and important part of the ear's protective and cleaning functions. Wax traps unwanted particles, preventing them from harming the eardrum. Usually, earwax falls out by itself, but may need to be removed by a physician.

Wax buildup may cause hearing loss, noises in the ear, earache, pressure or itching.

You may try to remove the earwax yourself using baby oil to soften it and warm water in a syringe to remove it. Do not attempt to remove wax if you have a hole in the eardrum or if your ear is infected. Never use cotton swabs to remove wax.
